Vision Statement

At the Academy of Music, we believe that the arts have the power to engage, transform and contribute to the development of intellectually and creatively well rounded students. Whether students pursue performing arts in their post-secondary plans or not, we find that students who complete four years at the Academy of Music are more confident, poised and articulate than many students in a less performance oriented curriculum. With 7 periods of instruction, after school and weekend rehearsals, performances and tours, our students learn to manage a demanding and rigorous academic curriculum along with the study and performance of their artistic discipline.

Now in our 24th year, the Academy of Music continues to provide the highest quality of artistic and academic excellence. We strive to be a more competitive school of choice by opening 20% of our seats for audition only students. We intend to remain competitive with all the new charters and special interest schools opening across the district by attracting the highest caliber of artistic talent as well as those who wish to start at the beginning through our continued excellence in programming.

We strive to seek ways to integrate the academic and artistic curriculum for a more holistic approach to learning.

We wish to become more financially solvent through our fundraising campaign and attract a greater number of donors and partnerships.
