This is my 8th year at the academy after teaching instrumental music for 9 years at John Muir HS in Pasadena. I've received community service awards for my dedication to arts in education from the NAACP, Altadena Links, the Mayor of Pasadena, and the United States Congress.
I am still active in the music business as a clarinetist. This is a brief CV of my performance career.
Currently an active performer on clarinet and sax in the L.A. area. Numerous jingle and media credits as well as symphonic credits. Currently clarinetist with the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra and Southwest Chamber Music. As clarinetist with Southwest Chamber Music has won Grammy Awards in 2003 and 2004 for Best Small Ensemble Performance, and received nominations for Best Small Ensemble Performance in 2005 and Best Classical Album of 2005. Also received a Latin Grammy Award nomination in 2005 for Best Classical Album. Southwest has traveled extensively including tours to Vienna, New York and the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. In 2006 toured Cambodia and Vietnam as the Artists in Residence with the National Music Conservatory in Hanoi. Southwest returned for a second tour of Vietnam in 2010 also performing and giving masterclasses at the Ho Chi Minh Conservatory of Music.

Musical theater credits include world tours of 'Evita', 'West Side Story' and '42nd St.'. National tour of 'Into the Woods' starring Cleo Laine. Also have over 40 show credits as reed player.
Have conducted 26 musical theater productions including Hamilton's 2006 production of 'Chicago' and was awarded Best Musical Director by the National Youth Theater Journal.
Overall I've performed in 38 countries on 5 continents.
