Beginning Drama

An introductory course reviewing the basics of drama training: pantomime, monologues, voice, and scene work. Analysis in drama structure through reading and viewing plays and literature of the theatre.

Advanced Acting

is a theatre history, acting genre class; beginning with Greek theatre history and ending with modern theatre.

Prerequisite: 
audition or permission of the instructor.

Play Production

Rehearsal and performance of two major dramatic productions and several smaller ones with moderate after school rehearsals.

Prerequisite: 
audition; not open to 9th graders.

Intermediate Acting

Continued acting preparation through voice, movement and analysis of monologues, scene and ensemble work; theater history is introduced; plays reflecting each historical time period are read and analyzed.

Theater Workshop

Is a performance class covering a wide range of styles from children’s theatre to Shakespeare; students compete in festivals and competitions; write, direct and produce their own work.

Prerequisite: 
audition and 1 year of drama.
