Grace Lee wins more awards

Grace Lee, a senior at the Hamilton Music Academy, has scooped up many honors this year. In January she was one of six pianists chosen to compete nationally for the Arts Recognition and Talent Search sponsored by the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts. Traveling to Miami for this competition, she came home with the Level One award.

Other awards include First Place in the 2006 Los Angeles International Liszt Competition, Grand Prize in the Glendale Piano Competition, First Place in the 2006 Young Artist competition sponsored by the Friends of William Grant Still Art Center, and First Place in the 2006 Southwestern Youth Music Festival. She was also the recipient of the 2006 Young Musicians Foundation Scholarship, and the MTAC Glendale Branch’s 2006 Memorial Scholarship.

Grace is a three-time winner of the Performer of the Year Award, and a two-time winner of the Kaufman Award from the Hamilton Academy of Music. She also won two scholarships from the Los Angeles PTSA, and two scholarships from the Colburn School of Performing Arts.

Grace was the first place winner of the Performing Arts Scholarship Competition held in the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. For this she won a four-year scholarship and received proclamations from the city of Cerritos and the County of Los Angeles.
