At AMPA we encourage parents and families to step up
AMPA encourages parent and family involvement in roles as chaperones, organizers, department reps, fundraisers and committee members. There are many ways you can lend your time, skills, ideas and support. At many high schools, parents take a step back, but at AMPA we encourage our parents to step up. Performance departments ask for help at concerts and competitions, serving as liaisons and coordinators. AMPA encourages you to join our non-profit foundation Friends of AMPA or to represent the academy at the Hamilton Booster Club or the Shared Decision Making (SDM) Council.Friends of the Academy of Music and Performing Arts (Friends of AMPA).

Parent Advisory Group
Parent Advisory meets monthly along with SDM. The committee serves as a voice of the students and parents. Share your concerns and solutions to problems. Let you voice be heard.
GALA Planning Committee
Gala is an annual celebration and student showcase including the announcement of Performer of the Year awards. The committee plans the on-campus event that precedes the concert.
SDM (Shared Decision Making)
This committee comprised of parents and faculty makes decisions regarding AMPA's budget, calendar and policies. SDM meets once a month at a time to be determined by the committee. This year’s election will be held on Back to School Night.
Booster Club
Comprised of parents and family members of currently enrolled students, the Booster Club is the primary non-profit group for the which provides financial and volunteer support for the entire Alexander Hamilton High School Complex.
AMPA Office
Help with filing, phones, special events, mailings and general administrative tasks.
Volunteer at Performances
Work at concessions, merchandising, selling programs , organizing student groups and box office sales.
Share your Expertise
actors and musicians are welcome to teach a class in our new Master Class Series.
grant writers please share your knowledge and help us secure new financial partnerships.
industry professionals costumer designers, set designers, prop masters etc. are invited to share experiences and knowledge.
business professionals marketing, publicity and production pros are encouraged to share their experiences with students about the behind the scenes work.
