AMPA AUDITIONS
AN ADDITIONAL PATH TO ADMISSION
At over 700 students and 38 faculty members, AMPA is one of the largest magnet centers in LAUSD. While the most popular path to admission is through the accumulation of magnet points using Choices released in October of each year, there is an additional path to admission.
For students who are concerned that they fall short of the required magnet points for admission, we offer auditions in specific disciplines in the month of January prior to the semester of matriculation. Students who select AMPA as their first choice in this process will be provided details and the ability to sign up for this process.
If you believe you should have been invited to this Early Audition opportunity and you have not received an email within 3 weeks of the application window having closed, please contact our Magnet Coordinator, Michelle Espinosa, to check.
AUDITIONS FOR SHOWS
Once you are a student in AMPA, you can audition for shows. Also, at the end of every year, students audition for placement for the following year in their performance courses.
Auditions have already been completed for the fall semester.
